作家略歴

Jewish–Russian raccoon. Expelled student of a minor theatre art school on the east border of Moscow.
Self-taught via practicing.
Master of sciences in the field of "Technosphere Safety" (Disaster Robotics).
Bearer of an offence record for democratic protesting in Moscow since 2011.
Never employed in an art-related field, with the focus instead on public support and freelance full-time creation.

作画方法、画材など

Paintings are made traditionally using paper, ink, watercolour, colours made from pigments, with constant experimentation in techniques and materials.
Supplies are chosen to be related to the project in question, with paintings about Europe created using mostly European supplies, paintings about Korea created using mostly Korean supplies, and paintings about Japan created using mostly Japanese supplies.

The reason for creation is in saving moments of our floating world as illustrations on paper with brushes and paint, with close attention on personal experience and truthfulness. Paintings are created in series and published on https://patreon.com/vokabre with backstories and behind the scenes comments on techniques and materials available for patrons, and then mirrored on other resources online.

Outside the internet, artworks were exhibited (the list is non-exhaustive) in: Moscow ("Show Me Love" exhibition in 2021 raided by the police, exhibition "Your Portrait Your Honour" by International Memorial in 2022); Saint Petersburg (Personal exhibitions at "Caledonian Forest" in 2017, 2018); New York ("Brooklyn Art Library", as part of "Sketchbook project 2010"); Zurich (Hauptbahnhof, "Artbox.Project" 2020); Haifa (exhibition on LGBTQ+ topics at "Zuzu Merkaz Tzeirim" 2022).

受賞歴

Paintings were first ever sent to be judged at an international competition in 2018, which resulted in JIA Illustration Award 2018 Excellent Prize.

Most recent personal projects of note are the "Paintings of the Voyage to Korea" (2014~2015), the following "Moscow Album" (2015~2022), and the "Paintings of the Voyages to Japan" (2018~ongoing).
